"I want to grow up to be prostituted," says no Girl ever.
Many women are prostituted in just about every country in the world. But no child, no little girl ever dreams about being enslaved into the world of prostitution. Not one wholly cherished child would.
But some end up there. How? More often than not, the adults in that child's life opens the door to this path through unintended neglect or deliberate child abuse. You can imagine what is meant by deliberate child abuse. Unintended neglect - have you measured or taken stock of the level of peace and self-awareness within your child? This question is not about right behavior or having children occupied by activities like sports, studying, field trips, sleep overs, projects, chores, etc then fall asleep exhausted to wake up to do it all over again. No. How well is their soul?
If the burden of trafficking sits on the shoulders of our youth, then our burden as the adults is to have these serious conversations and teaching moments with them throughout their childhood. She deserves to live out her childhood dreams.
